Home Farm is a vegetable and grain farm combining production farming and research for climate resilience.
We grow locally adapted staple crops for regional distribution and steward seed populations for long-term food security. Located in the Hudson Valley of New York, we’re guided by peasant farming wisdom from around the world.
We’re coming home to the regionally adapted, climate-collaborative practices that once lived at every farm.
We currently cultivate organic vegetables and grains on two leased sites. Our production focuses on staple crops—potatoes, root vegetables, cabbage, squash, alliums—to deliver nutrient dense calories into the food supply.
In 2025 we received a SARE grant focused on trialing rice varieties in an upland (non-paddy) system. We also participated in a national grant focused on expanding and promoting buckwheat production as a food crop.
In 2026 we will be repeating the rice trial, increasing our rice and buckwheat production, and expanding our vegetable acreage.
